We Are To Be Set Free
Full Title: (Together In Bondage) We Are To Be Set Free
Unable to escape the confines of the cell, I am open to a freedom so unfettered as to be unknown to most men.
The company I keep in the institutionalized annals of mankind puts me with persons of high inner greatness, Mandela may be my brother.
Our failure or accomplishment out in the world's streets and fields mean little behind the bars and the impassive faces of the administration.
It is the utter isolation and the pure absence of distraction that pushes my mind to perform acts of cleansing and purification.
Upon the emergence of my body, physical, from this place, my spirit - set away from its previous bondage - will reclaim that temple proper.

(For my imprisoned younger brother. He spent some time in Africa and fully appreciated the people and the land. Thus, the reference to Mandela.)**

It Is Hope
Of an origin eternal it springs, it has been spoken long into history. At the roots of its nature divine, it was seeded by His spirit. In our most basic nature there lies its core of constant action. To each man, woman and child it is freely set forth into motion. Beside the well of the human heart it dips a hand to stir the waters. Out to a source enlightened, it pulls the darkened soul. Beyond the clear lines of reason and sense, it chooses a dwelling place. With pieces of faith and scraps of belief, it weaves tightly a cloak of comfort. Before each required moment of inspiration, it stands awaiting entreaty. Into the presence of the need it most humbly goes to work. Between life and death it pulls, creating a joined and transitory road. Upon completion of each task, it alights briefly atop the finger of God. About the business of the Creator, it will forever there go.
